Drumming for Success is a fun and innovative use of group drumming as both a music lesson and a curriculum of social competence. This evidenced-based method has proven to provide a respite from the anxiety and depression we are all feeling in this unprecedented moment. To get ready for school, we have developed physically-distanced professional development sessions that will prepare teachers to provide this fun and anxiety reducing rhythm-making activity to their students when schools re-open.
We work with schools all over New England to navigate going back to school and want to help your team as well. With both certification and non-certification options available, we will work with you to find the best fit for your school.
Drumming for Success (DFS) is a fun and innovative use of group drumming as both a music lesson and a curriculum of social competence.

Workshops provide music therapy for teachers, staff and students and innovative educational concepts for enhanced learning efficacy.

Objectives
The Drumming for Success method also gives students an opportunity for increased understanding and empathy for African culture and rhythm, and by extension, a greater empathy for all people and cultures that are ‘different’ from their own.
The Drumming for Success seminar provides an opportunity for schools to implement an “in-house,” ongoing, professional development activity to help deal with the challenges of a new school year and create a team-building activity to help everyone pull together.
Each session is built based on your schools unique needs and restrictions, so please let me know what would work best for your team: in person or via video conference.
